Battery storage system consisting of 14 independently operable units installed next to a large photovoltaic power plant. The system provides multiple functionalities tied to the operation of the PV plant, as well as services directly for the grid operator.
The Site
The battery storage system is installed on a former farm waste dump, in an area with a high groundwater level. This made preparing the foundations and a suitable sub-grade for installation a challenge. The solution combined smaller concrete foundations with a metallic support platform. The entire system is powered through newly built substations (10.5 kV) integrated into the local grid.
