Ferlach 1

Starting.

We are proud to announce the launch of Ferlach 1, a new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project located near Ferlach, in the Klagenfurt region of Austria. This marks another important step in our mission to deliver reliable, sustainable, and future-ready energy solutions across Europe.

• With a total storage capacity of 8.1 MWh and 2.8 MW of power output, Ferlach 1 will play a vital role in enhancing grid stability. Once operational, the system will provide:

• FCR (Frequency Containment Reserve) – ensuring fast response in case of frequency deviations,

• aFRR (Automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve) – supporting the automatic recovery of grid frequency,

• Price arbitrage – improving the efficiency of energy use by storing electricity when it is abundant and releasing it when demand is high.

Together, these services help balance supply and demand, stabilize the network, and support Austria’s transition to a cleaner energy future.
